Samford AD Martin Newton Reflects on The Legacy of His Dad, C.M. Newton
With the passing of C.M. Newton, the family legacy in athletics is left behind to his son Martin Newton.
Martin graduated from Samford University in 1983 and returned to his alma mater in 2011 to take the helm as their director of athletics. Earlier this year, Samford signed Newton to a contract extension through 2022.

That was the case for our Samford Bulldogs this weekend as they went 2-3 in Gulf Shores but were on the edge of a spectacular weekend. Four of Samford's five games this weekend were decided by one run with both games Friday being decided with a walk-off run. (Continued)
